Awake
many nights i lay awake
watching the stars fade
back into the now light sky
the sun again soon to arise

watching clouds begin to form
above the branches of trees
eyes slowly start to close
with mind running still free

trying to stay awake i gaze
at the sun as it appears
bright with color in the sky
behind a cloud it will hide

just then my eyes become heavy
closing them i feel sleepy fast
it wont be long before i dream
as the hours of day goes past
