The faces blending, my mind reeling,
“Is he looking at me now? Oh my God, I must look silly!” My heart pounding, she points in your direction,
your face a spark, igniting an already glowing flame.
Walking toward you, your intensity focused on the computer screen.
I giggle silently and think, “He doesn’t even see me.” A million thoughts running through my head,
I touch your shoulder, whispering, “Hello baby.”
You look up and smile, your eyes shimmering and warm under the light. The sweet sound of your familiar voice takes my breath away;
and I realize that, in that moment, you’ve already stolen my heart.
