Out of Place
This burning weight keeps sinking further in my soul,
Just another painful reminder of the hell that I have known,
The scene of smiles and togetherness, far removed from me
Abandoned to the wrath of demons who laugh with scornful glee,

Something stirs in my memory's view, the beginning of it all,
The sight of the first stab wound that started this endless fall,
A rose and card that I never got, my love gone unreturned,
Crying there on the steps as my heart begins to burn,

(Start Chorus)
This stupid day of love that I am not allowed,
Watching all that I want in life being handed to the crowd,
Even though I've paid my dues in blood and self-esteem,
It still doesn't change the fact that everyone is loved but me,

Hating myself for hating them and their silver-spoon rewards,
Feeling selfish for wanting it without knowing what I'm wanting for,
Love is always the cruelest joke when it's laughing in your face,
Reminding you that you don't belong, that here you're out of place,
(End Chorus)

Lonely tears coursing through my veins, another heartache in the books,
Hearing another mirror break before I have a chance to take a look,
Feeling so alien even though I'm sitting here at home,
Wondering where it is I belong, if there's anywhere to go,

The simple little pleasures that make up the best there is in life,
For me are nothing more than a means to mark what I've lost inside,
I'm fighting to understand what move I should make next,
But all I really want to do is leave this heartless place,

After all, there's only so much that the drugs can do for you,
Even alcohol barely numbs the pain that I wish I could see through,
I am blinded by all that I wish I could set aside,
And drowning in a sea of tears that I'll never forget I cried,

There's an Angel in my mind, and I know that she's the key,
Somehow I've know since the beginning that she's the one who'll set me free,
Though, it's easier said than done to find someone so pure,
One in whose perfectly limitless heart lies my only cure,

But between her and I stands a world that hates to lose,
With an arsenal of emotional weapons that they can't wait to use,
Determined to win this fight, they stand in our way,
Throwing shards of glass in our face in the form of a horrid day,

(Instrumental then Chorus)

But I'll show them we can beat them all,
No matter what the cost,
Because they've already taken all they can from me,
There's nothing left to be lost,

To my Angel, I want you to know that I'll see you very soon,
Then we can show the world that they can never stop us two,
Refusing their spiteful attempts to make us ration our our hearts,
When they never had any say at all because it was ours from the start,

As for me, I feel a sad, faint smile show upon my lips,
And in it I see a chance I never thought to exist,
I know that I'm just a step away from leaving all this behind,
All the agony that started long ago on some day lost to time,

(Sing Chorus)

I'll be my own lonely place until I reach where I belong,
I'll self-sustain my heart that holds a map I know can't be wrong,
For it points to my Angel dear, their sweet love I can taste,
And no matter what the world has to say, I know that that's my place,

I belong,
I belong,
I belong,
My place is with you,
