It has been a very long time and I give my huge apologies to everyone. Over the next couple of weeks I am going to be updating a huge variety of items on the site. Below is a partial list of items that I am looking at:

After a rather interesting back and forth voting between the top 3 members, the Community chose their Author of the Year for 2011 with Skeevan/Namesh. Wolff Productions and Amatuer Writers would like to congratulate Skeevan for the years he has been a member of the community and the number of things he has helped me personally with over those years.

The Fall 2011 Quarter was a slow time for us all it appears. We only had one Author/Artist submit anything during this time frame and has been chosen automatically as the Author of the Quarter Fall 2011. Congratulations to DarkStarr.

At this time Wolff Productions and Amatuer Writers would like to congratulate all of our Authors and Artists for all that they have submitted and added to the growth of the website. The voting for the Summer 2011 Author of the Quarter concluded last night with some very close results. This is a reminder that voting for the Author of the Quarter - Summer Quarter 2011 is currently going on. Please make sure to get your votes placed on the Author or Artist that you feel or happened to like the best during the time frame of June 1st until August 31st.

After reading the above article I have to say that I am beyond shocked, and very displeased with the way the US Government is handling things. Personally I have to say that the government of the US and in fact of all the countries of the world need to open their eyes and realize just exactly what they are doing. No matter our personal views on same sex marriages, and the more we push to stop them, the more likely they are to happen anyways. Not too mention the fact, that if you stop and realize just exactly where the whole idea that same sex marriage comes from, the Church, you would realize how stupid it is of the government to enforce a law founded on Church doctrine, when it is stated that Church and State are SEPARATE! Starting on June 1st we will officially begin the Author of the Quarter. All poems and stories no matter content will get the Author entered into the running. The details are as such:
Spring Quarter: March 1st to May 31st Summer Quarter: June 1st to August 31st Fall Quarter: September 1st to November 31st Winter Quarter: December 1st to February 28th
Once the quarter has ended, I will add all Authors who have submitted at least 1 writing to the site into a poll here, which will remain open for a period of 2 weeks, allowing all authors and visitors to vote for who they think was the best Author during the quarter. After the 2 week period, the poll shall be closed and the top Author chosen shall receive an award on website naming them the Author of that quarter, also their name shall ... Read more » |

After all this time, I finally went and created a FaceBook group. If anyone has any ideas on other networking sites they might like to see Amatuer Writers a part of, please feel free to respond and to let me know.

A lot has happened lately and we have new Authors on site and some new writing going on since my last update. Due to a computer malfunction I have lost a lot of the old files I had for the awards and such. Between that and looking back at the awards I have, I have made a decision to completely redo them all. So over the next 48-72 hours I am going to remove and replace ALL awards on the site with newer ones. At this time I will also catch up the most recent ones that I am behind on, plus add in one that I should have done a couple years ago when Amatuer Writers celebrated its 5th Birthday.
Also Awards will only be given to those writers who have actually posted at least 1 writing on the site! |
